General cardiology and nuclear medicine.
Dr. Chelsky is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He holds a medical degree from the University of Texas and completed a residency and fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University. His practice incorporates general cardiology and nuclear medicine.
Naturally drawn to medicine, Dr. Chelsky found cardiology to be a constantly changing field and was excited by the new technology breakthroughs in this specialty. He even found ways to incorporate computer modeling into his organic chemistry research.
Cardiology care draws on many aspects of internal medicine. Dr. Chelsky enjoys staying up to date on how issues like kidney disease, diabetes and rheumatology can influence heart health. He’s also passionate about getting to know patients and believes understanding them better is key to providing the best care and support for their individual needs.
Adventist Health Portland’s anticoagulation clinic is directed by Dr. Chelsky. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and has participated in more than 30 clinical trials and published a number of scientific papers.
In his spare time Dr. Chelsky enjoys cooking, skiing and following his kids to musical and sporting events.
