Jeffrey M Drood, MD
As a cardiologist and electrophysiologist, Dr. Jeffrey Drood knows very well how all systems may impact his patients’ health. That’s one of the many reasons why Dr. Drood is passionate about getting to really know his patients.
“I enjoy spending time teaching patients about their health issues and I encourage patients to ask questions,” he explains. “I think outcomes are at their best when patients take an active role and thereby some responsibility for the care they receive.”
After completing medical school at Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Drood took his residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center, where he went on to complete fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Drood came to Adventist Health Portland from Maui, Hawaii. “On Maui, I knew some of the patients, and their families, for nearly 20 years,” he says. “Those patient-doctor relationships are what I miss the most about closing my practice there.”
Now in Portland, Dr. Drood and his wife enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest’s extensive outdoor activities, including downhill skiing, which Dr. Drood missed while in Hawaii. He has three lovely daughters and a baby on the way.
